Susana Torres Prieto is PhD. 'Doctor Europeus' in Slavic Philology by Cambridge University and Universidad Complutense. She did her postdoctoral studies on history in Paris (EPHE) and on paleograhpy and codicology in the US (Ohio State University). Professor Torres has developed her academic and research career in the areas of Slavic and Medieval Studies. She has specialized on the literature and culture of Russia from the Middle Ages until now, as well as on the means and context of transmission of knowledge, on which she has published extensively. She has taught in several universities in Spain and the US and, after having been member of several international research groups, directed her own international research group on translations into Slavic of Greek religious texts. She has been appointed Visiting Scholar at the Universities of Harvard, Ohio State, and Cambridge (UK). She is also member of several scientific societies worldwide. Her current research focuses on the transmission and representation of ideologies of power from the Middle Ages until now, particularly in the different Classical and Biblical models used in Eastern and Western Europe.
Susana is currently Professor of Humanities and Academic Director of Humanities at IE University and IE Business School. She is also Researcher in the Cátedra La Caixa/IE of Management.

Sowmya Vavilala is an International MBA student from India and an aspiring change maker with the aim to empower farmers through her own Agribusiness. An computer science engineer by degree she found her passion in agriculture while working with rural communities in India. Later, she worked on government funded projects assessing business models of farmer companies and suggesting policy changes to the government to empower farmers. Along with aspiring to be a change maker, Sowmya is also a swimmer and a debater. She takes part in open water swimathons and has been an active participant in events around debates and group discussions ever since school.

Federica Ilaria Fornaciari is an Italian-American professional, former Bain consultant and alumni of IE Business School (International Master in Business Administration ’13). Grew in USA as a child she moved in Italy where she achieved a Bachelor Degree in Business Administration at Luiss Business School in Roma (where she collaborated with various international project related to digital transformation such as RAI) and a Master in Marketing at Bocconi University. In Madrid she founded her second professional and personal home once she achieved her MBA at IE Business School (’13) Her professional career was always related to digital, in a first moment as a consultant in Value Lab (Ambrosetti-McKinsey spin off) - working into companies such as Yoox Net a Porter – and in Bain (with a strong focus in fashion and luxury industry), then moving into the marketing and communication industry joining WPP Italy (Digital Director of MediaCom and CDO of VMLY&R). Recognized as an expert of the field of digital marketing and transformation she was involved as presenter and speaker in the main Italian digital events. Given this expertise she joined also the academic field as Adjunt Professor in Liuc of Digital and Mobile Marketing, Fellow in Bocconi SDA (especially of programmatic topic and digital marketing for executives) and speaker/ lecturer in other institutions such as Bologna Business School, Izmir University (Turkey) etc. After the experience in WPP, Federica has now joined Havas Media Group in Spain (the biggest communication group of the country) as Digital Strategy Director.

Rolf Strom-Olsen earned his BA from the University of Pennsylvania, his MA from McGill University and his PhD from Northwestern University, all in history. A former Fulbright scholar, he has been teaching at IE since 2009 and is the architect of the humanities curriculum in the IMBA program.
