Maria joined Demeter Ventures in December 2015 as Investment Director. She works in the Spanish office, developing the startup and corporates network within Demeter’s sectors of interest being the deal flow sourcing there. Maria has a technical background in the energy and information technology sectors in companies like Iberdrola Engineering, IBM and Catalonia Institute for Energy Research (IREC). She has participated in projects in areas fields like wind onshore, district heating and cooling networks, biomass, energy efficiency, data centers and Green ICT, where she has a particular experience. Since 2012 she is in continuous contact with innovation, first assessing startups and companies in European financing programs, and lately as part of the evaluation committee of multiple accelerators and initiatives to support entrepreneurship.

Maria is an industrial engineer with a Master of Science in energy technologies from the Universidad Carlos III of Madrid. She also holds a Venture Capital specialization programme degree from IEB (Instituto de Estudios Bursatiles).
