Indian Classical Dance Workshop

An experience on the body to discover the essence of Indian dance though our own expression
A journey to the ancient notions of Indian dance and its relation with Bhakti or the expression of devotion through art: dance, music and poetry.

In this workshop the participant will be introduced to different aspects of Indian dance that includes the study of the movements based on postures or Karanas trying to find the balance, the relation to the earth, the awakening of each part of the body, the coordination, the rhythmic body and the hand gestures mudras and their meanings as the vocabulary to embody a poem, text or song.

Different kinds of poems and songs will be translated through the hand gestures trying to find the inner meanings and emotions that can be expressed through our body and gestures.
