SDA Bocconi MBA’s Conference & Regatta 2018 - September 27th to 30th, Santa Margherita, Italy (FULLY BOOKED)

The SDA Bocconi MBA's Conference & Regatta is one of the most popular and glamorous events of the MBA Sailing League. It brings together students and alumni of 20 top business schools in the gorgeous village of Santa Margherita Ligure, in Italy. Get ready for four days and nights of non-spot sailing and partying! Are you game?

IE Sailing Club is organizing one Open Class Crew (5 people) and one Cruise Class Crew (8-10 people). 

Open Class Crew
Sailing Experience Required

• Boats: J80
• Spinnaker: Gennaker
• Crew: Max 5 (MBA students or Alumni only of the same graduate business school)
• Alumni: Max 3
• MBA Alumni graduated in July 2018 count as students

Cruise Class Crew
Sailing Experience not is not mandatory, but preferable

• Boats: Various Cruise Options Assigned by the organiser (Bavaria, Sun Odyssey etc)
• Spinnaker: No
• Crew: 8-10 to be confirmed by the organiser (MBA students or Alumni only)

Friday, September 28th 

• 9:00    Skipper briefing at MBA’s Village
• 11:00   First start for all classes 
• 15:00   Free sailing time
• 18:00   Visit to Portofino by private ferry
• 21:30   Dinner and Crew party at MBA’s Village

Saturday, September 29th

• 9:00    Skipper briefing at MBA’s Village
• 11:00   First start for all classes (OPEN, OFFSHORE, CRUISE)
• 15:00   Free sailing time
• 19:00   Conference, Skipper Ceremony, Awards Ceremony at La Cervara
• 21:00   Gala dinner at La Cervara
• 23:30   Music & Drinks at La Cervara

Sunday, September 30th 

• 10:00    Free sailing time
• 17:30    Check-out and MBA’s Village Closing

Dress Code
During the day: Casual Sailing Clothes
For the parties on Thursday and Friday: Dress to impress
For Saturday Night Gala: Tuxedo for men and gala long dress for women 


Travel Arrangements 
Please note you need to be in Santa Marguerita Ligure on Thursday, September 27th in the morning to check in the boats, so you will need to travel to Santa Marguerita Ligure on early Thursday! 

• Current students: you will have to skip two days of classes, therefore we recommend that you reach out (speak) to the teachers of the affected subjects to know if you can compensate your absence by doing some extra work!
• Alumni:  you will have to request two complete days of vacation from your work

Price

• 630 Euro/person - includes all the events explained in the program:  accomodation (boats or hotel), the sailing boat, moorings, regatta organization, welcome coctail on thursday, breakfast friday and saturday, dinner and party on friday night, conference, gala dinner and party on saturday night;   
• Class Open sleeps in a hotel (a room of 2 and a room of 3), as the boats are too small and is not possible to sleep inside
• Cruise Class sleeps in the boat, in double cabins plus two people in the living room of the boat
• Travelling costs are not included
• There will be a deposit for each boat to be divided between the members of each crew and returned in the end, if no damage is caused to the boat

Cancelations
The cancelations are subjected to:

• That we find and approve a viable participant to replace the person that is requesting the cancelation (viable means that fits the requirements and rules of the event;
• In this case, the payment will be subjected to a cancelation fee of 50 euros until September 1st, and a cancelation fee of 200 euros after September 1st;
• If we don't find a viable replacement, the cancelation fee is 100% (no devolution)

Registration
After reading all the info carefully, please register all your data in one of the options. After that, you will receive and email from sailing.club@ie.edu requesting the payment. The paymente will have to be done inmediately, otherwise your registration won't be valid.
