This extraordinary LGBTQ+ event will discuss: How is the LGBTQ+ community represented in the media? We will talk about the evolution of LGBTQI in the media over the past 6 years with Isabel Durán, executive producer and director of entertainment programs such as "Casados a primera vista" and "Mujeres ricas" and Ana-Isabel Nölke, manager at Viavi Solutions and Doctoral Researcher at the University of Edinburgh.
Opening remarks will be presented by David Connell of the American Embassy in Madrid, and the event will be co-hosted by the President (and '05 IMBA alum!) of Lesworking, Marta Fernández Herraiz, & the President of IEOut & Allies Club, Michelle Raymond and focus on the history and future of LGBTQ+ marketing via the media and digital campaigns.
The Evolution of LGBTQ+ in the Media event is FREE, and all are welcome to attend (men, women, LGBTQI* and ally). The event will be conducted for the first time in Spanglish - and - Afterwards, join us for some additional networking & drinks. We look forward to seeing you there!

David Connell

David Connell ingresó en el Servicio Exterior en 1992. Hasta su designación como Agregado de Prensa en Madrid, ocupaba el cargo de Agregado de Prensa del Consulado General de Estados Unidos en Estambul. Anteriormente, en el Departamento de Estado, fue Responsable de Prensa de la Oficina para Asuntos Europeos y Eurasiáticos, Agregado Cultural Adjunto en la ciudad de México, Agregado Adjunto de Servicios Generales en La Paz, Asistente Ejecutivo en la Oficina para Asuntos del Hemisferio Occidental, Agregado Económico en Roma y Agregado Consular en Río de Janeiro. Entre 2000 y 2006, trabajó en el sector privado, en el desarrollo de negocio para Discovery Channel y en una empresa de arquitectura e ingeniería en Washington. David Connell tiene un Máster en Administración de Empresas por la Duke University y un título de Bachelor of Arts en Historia por el Dartmouth College. Oriundo de Massachusetts, habla español, francés, portugués, italiano y turco.

Gestora de Ofertas Comerciales para Viavi Solutions y Doctorada por la Universidad de Edimburgo. En su tesis analiza la evolución de cómo las marcas representan al colectivo LGBT a través de sus anuncios en los últimos años.
