IE Finance and Capital Markets Club is proud to welcome George Arhin, PwC Partner, to discuss the banking and finance sector in Ghana. Following the collapse of several banks from 2017-2018, Ghana experienced a resurgence in its economic growth, placing it as one of the fastest growing economies in 2018. Through this event, we will explore the lessons learned and changes in Ghana’s financial sector that can be applied elsewhere.

Mr Arhin is a global leader with a passion for growing and sustaining businesses. He has built a 14 year career in PwC and is known for his learning agility and versatility. He is currently an Assurance Partner, the PwC Business School Leader and the Human Capital Leader for PwC Ghana.

Prior to relocating to Ghana, George had a professional career with JP Morgan, Credit Suisse Asset Management and PwC in the England, Scotland and Houston Texas offices. He has worked on a number of projects in over 15 countries which make him bring unique insights and international perspective to clients and staff.

He is experienced in delivery of assurance services and has in-depth knowledge in accounting, finance and risk management across several industries. He has helped organisations redefine their mission, vision and strategic objectives and provided training and other advisory services to clients from small owner managed businesses to large multinational and listed companies in numerous countries. George is a graduate from University of Ghana Business School with an MBA from INSEAD.

Mr. Arhin is also a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA), Chartered Global Management Accountants (CGMA), Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (FCMA) and a Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants (ICA Ghana).
