Barbara Oakley, PhD is a Professor of Engineering at Oakland University in Rochester, Michigan; the Ramón y Cajal Distinguished Scholar of Global Digital Learning at McMaster University. She is also the author of New York Times best-selling science book A Mind for Numbers, as well as instructor of the world’s most popular massive open online course: UCSD-Coursera’s Learning How to Learn, with 1.6 million registered students. Her work primarily focuses on the complex relationship between neuroscience and social behaviour. A distinguished academic, her work was covered by many outlets like the Wall Street Journal and the New York Times and dubbed "revolutionary".
