We are happy to announce that we will be celebrating the XII edition of the Hay Festival Segovia, which is a festival where highly esteemed speakers present illuminating ideas.

The Hay Festival of Literature & Arts is an annual literature festival held in Hay-on-Wye, Powys, Wales, for ten days from May to June, since 1988 (29 years). The festival was described by Bill Clinton in 2001 as "The Woodstock of the mind". Since 2006 Hay Festival organizes the Spanish edition of its festival in Segovia.

IE, through IE University and IE Foundation, is since 2009 principal partners and academic sponsor of Hay Festival Segovia.

The festival will feature a number of world-class personalities including: Authors such as Fernando Aramburu, Jeanette Winterson, Leila Slimani (Goncourt 2016), Javier Marías, Dolores Redondo (Planet Award 2016), Andrea Marcolongo, Ben Okri or Antonio Muñoz Molina; on architecture and design: the Pritzker Prize Winner Richard Rogers, the Japanese visionary Sou Fujimoto, Benedetta Tagliabue, the Director of the Design Museum, Deyan Sudjic or the brilliant artist Doris Salcedo. Business leaders and art patrons such as Eduardo Hochschild or Hannah Rothschild. In the field of politics, economics and journalism, among others, the lawyer and writer Philippe Sands, Joaquin Almunia, the economist Guillermo de la Dehesa, the philosopher AC Grayling, the British jurist Helena Kennedy or the journalists from Monocle, FT, or Spanish leading voices such as Jordi Évole, Javier del Pino or Michael Robinson, among others.

More than 40 main events of the festival will be held in the Segovia campus from September 22nd to the 24th. For further details on the events, please see the calendar attached below. Click HERE for information in English and HERE for information in Spanish.

We would like to extend 50 invitations (VIP passes) to IE students and partners/friends to the main events happening on campus (Segovia) during the festival. Please sign-up before September 18th and you will receive further instructions on how to collect your pass. The tickets are limited, so we would like to ask you to cancel your registration if in the end you will not be able to attend the event. This way somebody else will have the opportunity to access the events.
