We create 2.5 quintillion bytes of data every day, with 90% of data in the world generated over the last 2 years alone. By 2020, it's estimated that 1.7MB of data will be created every second. These facts alone are a compelling argument for the importance of big data and data science, yet it is something not yet widely understood by all.

For non-technical managers, big data management can be an intimidating concept, but an essential skill that we all must become comfortable with. This event, led by BBVA's Global Data Portfolio Manager for Client Solutions, Guillermo Viera De Santiago, will focus on:

* The business applications of big data
* How data science can help organisations make better decisions
* Asking the right questions
* Putting these skills into practice with a Mini-Challenge to apply big data concepts to real life applications

No technical/data science skills required, this is just for anyone who is interested in its applications for real-life business situations!

He is also responsible for the Informational Datamart team of clients from South America. He has also worked for Indra as a consultant and is an IE Alumni, having completed a Masters in International Management (International Business) in 2010.
