Join the Cultural Excursions Club in one of our last excursions of the year. This time we are visiting Burgos, one of the most touristic (and beautiful!) cities of the region of Castilla y León, and for a good reason: it is home for a cathedral that has earned the status of UNESCO world heritage monument.

For only 6,30€, you will enjoy this day trip, which includes transportation Segovia-Burgos + tour with a local guide + 5 hours of free time + trip Burgos-Segovia.

5 things to do and see in Burgos
 
  1. Discover the Museum of Human Evolution (Museo de la Evolución Humana). This museum, which opened in 2010, not only has a complete and valuable colection of expositions about the evolution of our species, but it is also one of the most important research centers of anthropology worldwide.
  2. Admire the cathedral of Burgos. The cathedral of Burgos is one of the most recognised icons of Spain. This religious monument is the highest expression of the gothic artistic movement in the peninsula. It has the status of word heritage monument by UNESCO.
  3. Eat typical "queso and morcilla". Queso (cheese) and morcilla (black pudding) of Burgos are nationwide known for being the traditional delights of this region, which are typical eaten in the form of "tapas" or as starters in a meal.
  4. Pass though the arch of Santa María. This beautiful façade, built in the 16th century, served as one of the 12 entrances to the old city of Burgos in the Middle Ages.
  5. Visit the abbey of Santa María la Real de Las Huelgas. This religious monument, built between the 12th and 13th centuries, reflects a mixture between romanesque, gothic and almohad architectural styles. In the past it served as venue for royal weddings, both foreign and Spanish, includying that of Edward I of England and Eleanor of Castille.
