Hike in Peñalara

Details
Do you like hiking but can never find anyone to go with you? Do you like nature but don’t find enough of it in Madrid? IE Exploration Club has the event for you. Join us for a hike to Peñalara, our first event of the year. Peñalara with 2,500 meters is the highest peak of Sierra de Guadarrama.
Be prepared to hike on Saturday, 21st of September. We will be leaving Pedro de Valdivia 21 at 09:00 A.M. and will arrive back in Madrid at about 19:00. To reach the top, we will be hiking for 6 hours (there will be breaks in between). It is not a demanding hike and those of all physical fitness are welcome to join. A bus and a guide will be included in the hike.

We suggest you bring the following:
- Water (and more water)
- Hiking Boots or sturdy Sneakers
- Lunch
- A snack
- Comfortable Backpack
- Sun Screen
- Hat and Sunglasses
- Plastic Bag
- Tissues
- Jacket
- Raincoat or Umbrella
- Extra socks, shoes and clothes (optional)
- Hiking Poles (optional)
- Camera (optional)
In the event of strong rain, we will cancel the event and reimburse you. We will create a make-up event and update you.
