In our series of fortnightly events, IE Professor Jean-Marc Bonnefous will  lead a debate on the new monetary ecosystem. Today money and coinage are not anymore the exclusive domain for state and government. A number of alternative means of transfer and settlement are emerging, some public, some private, creating a new multifaceted and vibrant monetary ecosystem that mostly improves but sometimes challenges existing business models. We will examine these new systems (e.g.Libra) and discuss what issues and opportunities they bring to the financial and retail sectors.
