This class given by prof. Javier Capapé uncovers one of the least known investor-class globally: Sovereign Wealth Funds. With $7.2 trillion in assets under management, these funds owned by governments represent a threat but also an opportunity to renew the capitalism as we know it. It will provide insights of why SWFs became so prevalent, the fears of recipient countries, the sectors they prefer to invest, including startups and venture capital, and the role they play as active shareholders in areas such as environment, social and governance.
