In this talk, we will explore the world of Big Data, understanding the meaning behind this buzz word and why it has become so important. We will touch on how it is being used in business today and why businesses are struggling to adopt new analytical ways. Finally, we will cover some related, prominent technology topics such as Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning.

Christina Stathopoulos, originally from the US, graduated from the IE Master in Business Analytics and Big Data in 2016 and joined the Faculty side as an Adjunct Professor at IE Business School, imparting classes in Advanced Analytics and Big Data applied to Business. She also holds a Bachelor of Science from North Carolina State University, one of the top analytics universities in the US. She worked as an Engineer at both the software company SAS Institute and the American market research firm Nielsen before moving to her current role as an Analytical Consultant at Google Spain. Alongside her academic and corporate work, she is a regular conference attendee and speaker supporting women in STEM and emerging technologies.
