About the Master Class
In 1968, the strategist Edward Luttwak astonished readers with his book Coup d'état: a Practical Handbook, because he showed, step by step, how governments could be overthrown. Indeed, as he wrote, coups are not usually talked about, but are a relatively common form of governmental change in many parts of the world. Translated into sixteen languages, it has inspired anti-coup precautions by regimes around the world. In this lecture, we will look which of Luttwak’s techniques are still relevant, and what needs updating for politics in the digital age.
