About the Event:
The event will start with a session that highlights the challenges company leaders face when stewarding firm resources, especially with regards to making strategic investments in challenging political and economic times. Our speaker for this session is Dr. Gayle Allard, who has built a successful career in the field of economics, and is one of the most highly-ranked professors of the MBA program at IE Business School.  In her session, Gayle will call on the concepts she touches on in her Country Investment Simulation elective/course, and complement the discussion with insights on key market factors leaders are currently having to navigate, such as the election of President Trump in the United States, and the Brexit negotiations which are currently getting underway between the UK and the European Union.

After Professor Allard’s insightful session on how to effectively manage firm resources and investments, participants will be invited to join IE’s Director for Europe and Central Asia, Mr. Joël McConnell, for a multicourse dinner that will include a talk on the importance of Corporate Diplomacy.  Firms that succeed in the global sphere today understand how to manage stakeholder interests, both in the market and nonmarket space, and so the dinner conversation is a complement to the topics we’ll have seen during Gayle’s talk on how to steward firm resources in the economic and political environment leaders are facing.
These events are exclusively for applicants to an IE degree or Executive Education program, and for IE alumni, so join us to learn about highly relevant topics and meet other successful professionals who are looking to further develop their career, and gain added international exposure.
The event agenda:
  • 18:00-18:15 Registration and IE introduction
  • 18:15-19:30 Master Class
  • 19:30-21:00 Dinner and Talk on Corporate Diplomacy
