Many of us are attracted by the idea of working in different countries. Equally, many organisations prize staff who can adapt to and work across cultures. However, making a successful transition to a new country is never simple.

Those who make these changes successfully use particular strategies to adapt.  In this webinar Linda Brimm, Emeritus Professor of Organisational Behaviour at INSEAD, examines how “global cosmopolitans” operate effectively in different countries and cultures and explains what we can learn from them:
  • How to deal with the complexity and anxiety involved in moving country
  • How to deconstruct and prioritise issues and concerns
  • How to create options and commit to a change
  • How to deal creatively with uncertainty
  • How to learn the “rules” of a new culture quickly
  • How “kaleidoscope thinking” which mixes insider and outsider perspectives helps to diagnose and negotiate cultural difference
IE Alumni can register free at: https://globalcosmopolitans.eventbrite.co.uk?discount=IEalum (use code “IEalum” if discounted ticket does not show)
All attendees will receive the meeting slides, a recording and a resource pack
